California Women Sue San Francisco Over Fixed Bail Schedule

(November 11, 2015, 8:26 AM EST) -- SAN FRANCISCO — Two California women who were arrested and jailed after they couldn’t post bail filed a class complaint Oct. 28 in California federal court accusing San Francisco City and County and the State of California of violating their rights and the rights of other arrestees by adhering to a fixed bail schedule that keeps poorer arrestees sitting in jail (Riana Buffin, et al. v.
