Federal Judge Dismisses Maryland Law Claims, Allows FDCPA Claim Against Bank

Mealey's (November 10, 2015, 1:35 PM EST) -- BALTIMORE — A Maryland federal judge on Nov. 9 dismissed claims asserted by a property owner against a bank and law firm for violation of Maryland law but allowed her claim for violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) against the law firm to proceed (Joann Crowley v. JPMorgan Chase Bank, et al., No. 15-00607, D. Md.; 2015 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 151381).
