Attorneys Seek $20.8M In Fees For Reaching $52M Fracking Royalty Settlement

Mealey's (November 6, 2015, 3:36 PM EST) -- OKLAHOMA CITY — The attorneys representing a company that purchases royalties and mineral rights for oil and gas exploration through hydraulic fracturing on Oct. 26 filed a brief in Oklahoma federal court arguing that they are entitled to $20.8 million in fees and expenses for their work in achieving a $52 million settlement (Chieftain Royalty Company v. SM Energy Company, et al., No. 11-177, W.D. Okla.).
