Mealey's (November 6, 2015, 11:26 AM EST) -- INDIANAPOLIS — An Indiana federal magistrate judge on Oct. 30 denied a motion by Cook Medical Inc. to bifurcate the issue of punitive damages during discovery and during trials involving the device maker’s inferior vena cava (IVC) filters (In Re: Cook Medical, Inc., IVC Filters Marketing, Sales Practices and Product Liability Litigation, MDL Docket No. 2570, No. 14-ml-2570, S.D. Ind., Eastern Div.; 2015 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 147354).
