Judge: Maritime Law Governs Case, Entitles Plaintiffs To Jury Trial
(November 3, 2015, 11:07 AM EST) -- SEATTLE — A couple’s asbestos case satisfies the locality and connection test for maritime law, eliminating application of state law to negligence and products liability claims, a federal judge held Oct. 21 in also finding entitlement to a jury trial (Glenn M. Hassebrock and Betty Hassebrock v. Air & Liquid Systems Corporation, et al., No. 14-1835, W.D. Wash.).
