Judge Denies Injunction To Stop Election Of Native Hawaiian Delegates
(November 2, 2015, 1:19 PM EST) -- HONOLULU — Five Hawaiian residents lost their bid to halt an election of delegates to a proposed convention of Native Hawaiians to discuss organizing a Native Hawaiian governing entity when a federal judge on Oct. 29 denied the residents’ request for a preliminary injunction (Keli’i Akina, et al., v. State of Hawaii, et al., No. 15-00322, D. Hawaii; 2015 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 146995).
