Louisiana Appellate Court Affirms Judgment In Wrongful Death Suit
(October 27, 2015, 11:03 AM EDT) -- SHREVEPORT, La. — A Louisiana appellate panel on Oct. 14 affirmed a $500,000 judgment in favor of seven children who sued a hospital where their mother died, finding that a state trust fund that pays out medical malpractice judgments could not appeal the hospital’s liability (Lateea Toston, et al. v. St. Francis Medical Center, et al., No. 49,963-CA. La App., 2nd Cir.).
