Captive Reinsurer Says It Cannot Be Sued For Payment Of Arbitration Award
(October 26, 2015, 11:19 AM EDT) -- NEW YORK — A captive reinsurer told a federal court in New York on Oct. 16 that another federal court decision shows that it cannot be sued to honor a certain arbitration award when the actual party at issue is a “protected cell” (AmTrust North America, Inc., et al. v. Pacific Re, Inc., et al., No. 15-cv-07505, S.D. N.Y.).
