Bair Hugger MDL Arguments Will Be Heard At Dec. 3 Meeting

Mealey's (October 23, 2015, 3:41 PM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation will hear arguments on Dec. 3 on whether to centralize 14 federal lawsuits in which patients allege that the Bair Hugger patient warming system caused post-operative infections, the panel announced Oct. 21 (In Re: Bair Hugger Forced Air Warming Devices Products Liability Litigation, MDL Docket No. 2666, JPMDL).

The Bair Hugger is an inflatable blanket placed over or under patients during surgery. Warm air is forced through the blanket and exhausts toward the floor.
