Judge: Travelers Can Intervene In Appeal Of Ruling Barring Claims Against Insurer
(October 16, 2015, 3:48 PM EDT) -- NEW YORK — A New York federal judge on Sept. 25 allowed two Travelers insurance companies to intervene in an appeal of a bankruptcy judge’s ruling that an asbestosis victim cannot pursue claims against an insurer of Johns-Manville Corp. because the claims are barred by nearly 30-year-old court orders confirming Johns-Manville’s bankruptcy reorganization plan and issuing an injunction against such claims (The Bogdan Law Firm v. Marsh USA, Inc., No. 15-6607, S.D. N.Y.).
