Guardian Hospice Agrees To Pay $3M For Fraudulently Billing Medicare

(October 14, 2015, 2:04 PM EDT) -- ATLANTA — A federal judge in Georgia on Oct. 8 dismissed a False Claims Act (FCA) lawsuit brought against Guardian Hospice LLC and its related entities in which the defendants were accused of fraudulently billing Medicare for services provided to hospice patients who were not terminally ill after the defendants agreed to pay $3 million to the federal government (United States of America, ex rel. Rose Betts, et al. v. Guardian Hospice of Georgia LLC, et al., No. 12-cv-0412-TWT, N.D. Ga.).
