Hospice Facility Agrees To Pay $2.2M To Resolve False Claims Act Suit

(October 14, 2015, 11:57 AM EDT) -- PHOENIX — The U.S. Department of Justice on Oct. 7 announced that an Arizona hospice facility has agreed to pay $2.2 million to resolve allegations that it violated the False Claims Act (FCA) by submitting fraudulent claims to Medicare for services that were not covered by the insurer (United States of America, ex rel. Sifford v. Serenity Hospice and Palliative Care, No. 14-cv-00225-PHX-GMS, D. Ariz.).
