Nursing Home Pharmacy Pays $9.25M To Settle Depakote Kickback Allegations

(October 13, 2015, 8:02 AM EDT) -- ABINGDON, Va. — Nursing home pharmacy PharMerica Corp. has agreed to pay $9.25 million to resolve civil allegations that it solicited and received kickbacks from drug maker Abbott Laboratories in exchange for promoting Abbott’s anti-seizure drug Depakote, the U.S. Justice Department and defendant announced Oct. 7 (United States of America ex rel. Meredith McCoyd v. Abbott Laboratories, et al., No. 07-81 and United States of America ex rel. Thomas J. Spetter Jr. v. Abbott Laboratories, et al., No. 10-6, W.D. Va.).
