Judge Allows Residents’ Class Certification Experts In Chemical Spill Case

(October 9, 2015, 2:23 PM EDT) -- CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The federal judge in West Virginia presiding over the groundwater contamination lawsuit brought by residents who contend that a group of companies are liable for negligently allowing a chemical spill to taint their drinking water on Oct. 8 ruled that the residents’ experts on class certification were admissible, and he gave the plaintiffs time to file an extended brief arguing for class status (Crystal Good, et al. v. American Water Works Co. Inc., No. 14-1347, S.D. W.Va.).
