Judge Dismisses Insured’s Bad Faith Claim Against Homeowners Insurance Provider

Mealey's (October 8, 2015, 10:49 AM EDT) -- PHILADELPHIA — An insured has failed to plead more than conclusory allegations in making his insurance breach of contract and bad faith claims against his insurer for failure to pay damages pursuant to a homeowners insurance policy, a federal judge in Pennsylvania ruled Sept. 29 in dismissing the insured’s bad faith claim (Christopher Mills v. Allstate Insurance Co., No. 15-4824, E.D. Pa.; 2015 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 130862).
