(October 7, 2015, 11:47 AM EDT) -- SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe in South Dakota sued the federal government Oct. 2 seeking to halt the Department of the Interior (DOI) from proceeding with announced plans to restructure the DOI’s Bureau of Indian Education (BIE), saying the restructuring was done without input from the tribe as mandated by a prior stipulated settlement agreement (Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe v.
