Insurance Broker Appeals Dismissal Of Insured’s Superstorm Sandy Damage Claims

(October 6, 2015, 1:28 PM EDT) -- PHILADELPHIA — An insurance broker, one of the defendants in a suit seeking coverage for damage to residential condos following Superstorm Sandy, appealed dismissal of the insured’s claims after the trial court rejected the insured’s breach of contract claim, finding that the co-insurance penalty applied, and rejected the insured’s state law claims (The Residences at Bay Point Condominium Association, Inc. v. The Standard Fire Insurance Company, d/b/a Travelers Indemnity and Affiliates, et al., No. 14-3981, 3rd Cir.).
