Insured Had No Contract With Reinsurer; Ohio Federal Judge Dismisses Claims
(October 6, 2015, 12:26 PM EDT) -- CINCINNATI — An Ohio federal judge on Sept. 30 dismissed an insured’s claims against a reinsurer and the reinsurer’s claims handling company because the insured did not have a contract with either company and, therefore, was not in privity with those parties (The William Powell Co. v. National Indemnity Co., et al., No. 14-807, S.D. Ohio; 2015 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 132762).
