Committee Votes To Send ACA Large-Employer Definition Bill To House

(September 29, 2015, 12:24 PM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — A U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Sept. 28 suspended the rules and sent a bill aimed at giving states the ability to treat employers with less than 100 employees as small employers under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) for full consideration. A Sept. 15 Congressional Budget Office analysis concluded the measure would likely reduce premiums in the near term by allowing more employers to offer plans that do not meet the current standards for large employers.
