8th Circuit Finds ACA Accommodation Violates Religious Practice

(September 28, 2015, 12:08 PM EDT) -- CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Relying on its ruling in Sharpe Holdings, an Eighth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals panel on Sept. 17 found that the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) birth-control mandate accommodation process violates religious practice (Dordt College and Cornerstone University v. Sylvia Burwell, et al., No. 14-2726, 8th Cir.; 2015 U.S. App. LEXIS 165909).
