D.C. Circuit: Train Engineer Whose Firing Was Overturned Failed To Prove Racial Bias

(September 28, 2015, 10:23 AM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — A train engineer who was fired following a derailment but later reinstated after several appeals failed to prove that his firing was the result of racial discrimination, the District of Columbia Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals ruled Sept. 18, upholding a trial court’s decision (Greg Burley v. National Passenger Rail Corp., doing business as Amtrak, No. 14-7051, D.C. Cir.; 2015 U.S. App. LEXIS 16626).
