Judge Denies Injunction In Fracking Permit Dispute; Appeal To 10th Circuit Likely

(September 18, 2015, 2:35 PM EDT) -- ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The federal judge in New Mexico presiding over a lawsuit in which a group of residents contend that a U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) decision that approved permits for hydraulic fracturing violated federal law denied the residents’ motion for injunction pending appeal on Sept. 16, clearing the way for a federal appellate court action (Dine Citizens Against Ruining Our Environment, et al. v. Sally Jewell, et al., No. 15-209, D. N.M.).
