GM Argues It Is Not Liable For Punitive Damages In Personal Injury Suits

(September 16, 2015, 2:05 PM EDT) -- NEW YORK — General Motors LLC (New GM) on Sept. 13 argued before a New York federal bankruptcy court that it has no liability to pay punitive damages in relation to numerous personal injury lawsuits filed against it, submitting that it is not responsible for the conduct of Motors Liquidation Co., f/k/a General Motors Corp. (Old GM) (In re: Motors Liquidation Company, et al., f/k/a General Motors Corp., et al., No. 09-50026, S.D. N.Y. Bkcy.).
