Federal Judge Enjoins Existing ACA Birth-Control Mandate Regulations

Mealey's (June 15, 2015, 1:30 PM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — A federal judge in the District of Columbia on Oct. 20, 2014, enjoined implementation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) contraceptive mandate but limited the injunction’s reach to regulations in place at the time the Supreme Court issued Burwell v. Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc. (134 S. Ct. 2751 [2014]; See July 2014, Page 8) (Francis A. Gilardi Jr., et al. v. United States Department of Health and Human Services, et al., No. 13-104, D. D.C.).
