House Legislation Seeks Creation Of U.S. Mesothelioma Registry

(August 24, 2015, 3:12 PM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — Legislation introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives July 29 would create a mesothelioma patient registry.

House Resolution 3284, the Mary Jo Lawyer Spano Mesothelioma Patient Registry Act of 2015, would create a registry to collect data on mesothelioma, including information on the number of occurrences and prevalence of the disease in the United States.

The bill seeks to help track the epidemiology of mesothelioma patients and treatment outcomes and to assist in developing further research.
