Company Responds To Mongolia's Application To Annul $100 Million Award

(August 21, 2015, 12:42 PM EDT) -- TORONTO — A Canadian resource company on Aug. 19 issued a response to a recent filing by the government of Mongolia in a French appeals court, seeking to annul a $100 million award issued by the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA).


Khan commenced arbitration against Mongolia and Monatom before the PCA in 2011 in relation to the cancellation of Khan's uranium licenses in 2009. The tribunal found that Mongolia breached its obligations under Mongolia's foreign investment law and that it breached the Energy Charter Treaty....
