HHS Makes $54.6 Million In ACA Funding Available For Mental Health Services

Mealey's (June 12, 2015, 3:25 PM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on July 31, 2014, announced that it was making $54.6 million available through the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) for the expansion of mental health services.

The funds will go toward creating or expanding 221 mental health and substances abuse health care services, according to a post on healthcare.gov. HHS’s Mary K. Wakefield, Ph.D., R.N., said in the post that the awards would help 450,000 individuals in 47 states and Puerto Rico....
