Judge: Imported Materials Used In Fracking Fluids Are Free From Tariffs
(August 19, 2015, 8:24 AM EDT) -- NEW YORK — A federal judge in the U.S. Court of International Trade on July 22 ruled that proppants, material added to hydraulic fracturing fluids imported from the People’s Republic of China, are free from tariff based on their classification under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) (Schlumberger Technology Corporation v. United States of America, No. 11-00266, U.S. Intl. Trade; 2015 Ct. Intl. Trade LEXIS 83).
