Federal Court Finds ACA Individual Mandate Claims Fail On Merits
(August 14, 2015, 3:12 PM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — A Pennsylvania politician has standing to pursue an establishment clause challenge to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) individual mandate, but his claims fail on the merits, partly because he cannot trace his injury to the law itself, the District of Columbia U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals held Aug. 14 (Jeffrey Cutler v. United States Department of Health and Human Services, et al., No. 14-5183, D.C. Cir.).
