Cattlemen Say Fencing Off Riparian Areas Is A Final Government Action

(August 12, 2015, 11:27 AM EDT) -- ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A group of New Mexico cattlemen on July 31 opposed the United States’ motion for partial dismissal of their water rights complaint, saying the fencing off of riparian areas on federal lands for the protection of an endangered mouse is not “proposed” but is in fact permanent (San Diego Cattlemen’s Cooperative Association, et al. v. Tom Vilsack, et al., No. 14-818, D. N.M.; See May 2015, Page 17).
