7th Circuit: Successor Had Notice Of Potential Withdrawal Liability
Mealey's (August 10, 2015, 11:38 AM EDT) -- CHICAGO — A company may be liable for the multiemployer pension fund withdrawal liability of the employer company it purchased if the successor company had notice of the potential withdrawal liability, the Seventh Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals ruled July 27 (James Tsareff, et al. v. ManWeb Services, Inc., No. 14-1618, 7th Cir.; 2015 U.S. App. LEXIS 12924).
