Plan Participant Not Entitled To Refund Of Premiums, 11th Circuit Says

Mealey's (August 10, 2015, 10:50 AM EDT) -- ATLANTA — A health plan properly denied a plan participant a refund of insurance premiums for her daughter’s coverage because her plan provided that benefit elections made during a leave of absence applied only for the duration of the leave, the 11th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals affirmed July 24 in an unpublished opinion (Karen Lesnick-Oakes v. American Airlines, Inc., No. 15-10777, 11th Cir.; 2015 U.S. App. LEXIS 12769).
