UCL Claim Dismissed From Suit Challenging Uber’s Safety Claims
Mealey's (August 5, 2015, 9:34 AM EDT) -- SAN FRANCISCO — A federal judge in California on July 17 dismissed an unfair competition law (UCL) claim from a suit alleging that a transportation network company misled consumers regarding the safety of its services and harmed companies providing taxi services in the process (L.A. Taxi Cooperative Inc., et al. v. Uber Technologies Inc., et al., No. 15-1257, N.D. Calif.; 2015 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 94181).
