Montana Federal Judge Dismisses Crow Tribe’s Water Compact Challenge

Mealey's (July 29, 2015, 12:39 PM EDT) -- BILLINGS, Mont. — A Montana federal judge on July 27 dismissed an attempt by some members of the Crow Tribe to enjoin two state water court judges from approving an intergovernmental water compact, saying the judges have already acted, the issue is moot and the plaintiffs can appeal to the Montana Supreme Court (Crow Allottees Association, et al. v. Montana Water Court Chief Judge Russell McElya, et al., No. 14-62, D. Mont., Billings Div.; 2015 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 97753).
