Study: Methane Emissions From Fuel Operations Are Greater Than Previously Thought

Mealey's (October 10, 2016, 8:27 AM EDT) -- SILVER SPRING, Md. — The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA) on Oct. 5 released a statement that methane emissions from fossil fuel development around the world, including hydraulic fracturing, are up to 60 percent greater than estimated by previous studies.

Researchers with the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences co-authored the study with NOAA.
