Mealey's (September 26, 2016, 1:51 PM EDT) -- BOSTON — A Massachusetts Indian tribe seeking to build a casino on land that a federal judge ruled was acquired improperly by the U.S. government can intervene in an action brought by residents who oppose the casino to challenge the ruling, the judge held Sept. 23 after finding that the tribe has an “undeniable and compelling interest” in the case (David Littlefield, et al. v. United States Department of the Interior, et al., No. 16-10184, D. Mass.; 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 130611).
