California City Sues State, Says Its Water Supply Is Independent, Renewable

Mealey's (July 15, 2015, 12:57 PM EDT) -- FRESNO, Calif. — A California city on June 4 sought an injunction against the state’s emergency water use reductions, saying it has had a 100 percent independent and renewable water supply since 2008 and that the State Water Resources Control Board refuses to exempt the city from the state’s emergency water regulations requiring a 24 percent reduction in water use (City of Riverside v.
