Insurer Appeals Attorney Fee Award For Bad Faith Denial Of Hurricane Irene Damage

Mealey's (September 22, 2016, 10:02 AM EDT) -- RICHMOND, Va. — A federal flood insurer on Sept. 6 filed a notice of appeal in the Fourth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals from a lower court’s $63,962.50 attorney fee award in favor of insureds for its bad faith denial of their Hurricane Irene flood damage claim (Gary Woodson, et al. v. Allstate Insurance Co., No. 16-2018, 4th Cir.).
