Labor Secretary Asks 4th Circuit To Reaffirm 2014 Decision In Tatum
(September 21, 2016, 11:16 AM EDT) -- RICHMOND, Va. — Secretary of Labor Thomas E. Perez on Sept. 9 filed an amicus curiae brief urging the Fourth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals to hold R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. (RJR) liable for losses suffered by its 401(k) retirement employee benefit plan after its 1999 decision to divest Nabisco stock from the plan (Richard G. Tatum, et al. v. R.J.R. Pension Investment Committee, et al., No. 16-1293, 4th Cir.).
