Warrant Issued For Return Of Pueblo Shield; France Auction House Targeted
Mealey's (September 1, 2016, 11:28 AM EDT) -- ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The U.S. marshal in New Mexico is authorized to seize a century-old ceremonial shield that was stolen in the early 1970s from the home of a Pueblo leader and offered for sale recently by a Paris auction house, according to a warrant issued Aug. 31 by a federal judge (United States of America v. Acoma Ceremonial Shield, No. 16-cv-00832, D. N.M.).
