Judge Dismisses Fracking Lease Dispute; Agreement In Principle Reached

Mealey's (July 8, 2015, 12:30 PM EDT) -- OKLAHOMA CITY — The federal judge in Oklahoma presiding over a lawsuit brought by the Chickasaw Nation and Choctaw Nation against the U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) alleging that the U.S. government has never provided an accounting for its management of various assets that belong to the nations, including oil and gas leases, on July 2 dismissed the lawsuit on grounds that the parties, through mediation, have reached an agreement in principle.
