Judge Enjoins ACA Contraceptive Mandate’s Application To Elected Official
(August 23, 2016, 10:10 AM EDT) -- ST. LOUIS — A state official has standing to challenge the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) contraceptive mandate’s application to his family, and the government has not adequately shown that the mandate is the least restrictive means of accomplishing its goals, a Missouri federal judge held July 21 in granting summary judgment (Paul Joseph Wieland, et al. v. U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, No. 13-1577, E.D. Mo.).
