California Federal Judge Transfers Fraud Case To Northern District Of Illinois
Mealey's (August 17, 2016, 12:46 PM EDT) -- SAN FRANCISCO — A California federal judge on Aug. 15 granted a home health care services franchisor’s motion to transfer to Illinois federal court a case alleging that it used misrepresentations to sell a franchise because the franchisor is headquartered in that state and California has no public policy interest in the case (Cosmo Fraser, et al. v. BrightStar Franchising LLC, et al., No. 16-cv-01966, N.D. Calif.; 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 107900).
