Resident: Officials Not Entitled To Immunity From Flint Water Crisis Liability

(August 15, 2016, 9:09 AM EDT) -- GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The resident of Flint, Mich., who are suing the governor of Michigan and state officials filed a brief in a Michigan federal court on Aug. 4, contending that the defendants are not entitled to immunity from liability claims related to the lead-contaminated water crisis in Flint, and the claims are not preempted by state or federal drinking water laws (Tamara Nappier v. Richard Snyder, et al., No. 16-636, W.D. Mich.).
