Motion For MDL For Essure Birth Control Device Set For Sept. 29 Hearing
(August 12, 2016, 1:28 PM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — The centralization of 28 federal lawsuits alleging injuries from the Essure birth control device will be argued Sept. 29, according to an Aug. 11 hearing order for the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation (In Re: Essure Birth Control Device Product Liability Litigation, MDL Docket No. 2739, JPMDL).
Essure is a metal coil inserted into the fallopian tubes. The device is intended to grow tissue around the coil and block sperm from travelling through the fallopian tubes to fertilize eggs.
