Nevada Dumps ACA Insurance Exchange, Will Rely On Federal Exchange

Mealey's (June 11, 2015, 3:40 PM EDT) -- CARSON CITY, Nev. — Citing “extensive and reoccurring errors” with Nevada’s “underperforming” Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) health insurance exchange, the board governing the exchange abandoned it on May 20, 2104, in favor of the federal one, sources told Mealey Publications.

Nevada had signed a $71,963,299, five-year contract with Xerox State Healthcare LLC to establish the Silver State Health Insurance Exchange. A revision to the contract pushed the amount to $75,465,151. The state reportedly has paid Xerox $12 million to date. The board’s move...
