Following Trademark Trial, Federal Judge Sides With Macy’s Subsidiary

(August 3, 2016, 11:01 AM EDT) -- NEW YORK — Allegations that Macy’s Merchandising Group Inc. (MMG) infringed the “Joules” trademark by selling women’s clothing under the “Maison Jules” trademark were rejected Aug. 2 by a New York federal judge following a two-day bench trial in July (Joules Limited v. Macy’s Merchandising Group Inc., No. 15-3645, S.D. N.Y.; 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 101151).
